ELSA Spain

Since 1988, ELSA Spain is one of the 43 members of ELSA – The European Law Students’ Association, the world’s largest independent law students’ association. ELSA Spain consists of 18 Local Groups, located in different Law Faculties in the cities of Barcelona, Bilbao, Córdoba, Donostia-San Sebastián, Madrid, Salamanca, Sevilla, Valencia and Valladolid.

Overview

Vision: A just world in which there is respect for human dignity and cultural diversity.Purpose: To contribute to legal education, to foster mutual understanding and to promote social responsibility of law students and young lawyers.Means: 

  • Providing opportunities for law students and young lawyers to learn about other cultures and legal systems in a spirit of critical dialogue and scientific co-operation.
  • Assisting law students and young lawyers to be internationally minded and professionally skilled.
  • Encouraging law students and young lawyers to act for the good of society.
  • We aim to pursue all of this through a wide range of both academic and social activities organized in three different levels: local, national and international. These include, for example, internship in foreign countries, law schools, moot court competitions, seminars, conferences, bilateral exchanges, etc..

    ELSA International

    ELSA  (The European Law Students’ Association) is an international, independent, non-political, non-profit-making organisation run by and for students. It is comprised of students and recent graduates who are interested in academic and personal excellence in addition to their studies at their universities. Five law students from Austria, Hungary, Poland and West Germany founded ELSA in 1981. Today ELSA is the world’s largest independent law students association and it is represented at nearly 300 law faculties in 41 countries across Europe with membership in excess of 40,000 students and young lawyers.The team of ELSA International is coordinating the activities and projects in the ELSA Network. ELSA International is comprising of a full time board based in Brussels, but also Directors and Assistants working in separate fields together with one or several board members from the International Board.For more information about ELSA and an updated overview of international events, you can visit ELSA.
